VEZI

Vezokuhle Mntungwa (born December 18, 1999), known professionally as Vezi, is a South African rapper. Raised in the Township of Langa in Cape Town. He embarked on his music career as a poet in high
school, and later began freestyling for friends and rapping over instrumentals. Vezi has released three mixtapes
namely; Mixtape B4 The Mixtape, Unspoken Thoughts (available on soundcloud) and, most recently, the Strictly 4 Amajita mixtape (available on all streaming platforms).
Through his lyrical ability, the music on Strictly 4 Amajita takes a glimpse into socially conscious subject matter
which stems from growing up in a township. His use of vernacular flow, which he terms as ‘Kasi’ rap, allows
insight on his exposure to harsh conditions of growing up in a township, while chasing a dream.
